I spoke at the SARCC conference held in Southend on Sea. Sustainable and Resilient Coastal Cities (SARCC) is an EU-funded joint research project sharing learning between North Sea coastal communities. The project's goal is to incorporate nature-based solutions into coastal management and policy. I was delighted to meet leaders from France, Belgium and the Netherlands who are working to better protect local community livelihoods and places from rising sea levels, using nature based solutions in place of hard infrastructure barriers.
